I'm BettyBee! I've been quite excited about doing this challenge for you!
I've had the 1966 song by Donovan, "They Call It Mellow Yellow" in my head for a while now, ind it has inspired me to think YELLOW! (I know that probably dates me, because I remember it as an original song!) But, some of you younger gals and guys might remember it from a Target ad, as a soft drink, or as a NASCAR sponsor in the 1990's. The drink was actually in New Zealand in '06 and '07, so there has been plenty of Mellow Yellow around!
What comes to your mind when you think of yellow? A friend said today that his first thought was lemon chiffon pie! Yummy!! Do you think of spring daffodils, fuzzy baby chicks, or a blazing sunset? Or perhaps sunflowers with their drooping heads, juicy apples just waiting to be eaten, or a crisply ironed sundress from your childhood memories? Whatever it is, yellow is a color that invokes powerful memories and emotions.
In China yellow is associated with the active and creative male Yang principle. Ancient Egyptians ascribe yellow to the gentleness, cheerfulness and sensuality (ooh, la, la!) of the female! Yellow has many moods, bright, vibrant and playful. Soft, gentle and tender - soft enough for baby.
I have created three different yellow cards to show you today. One is vibrant and fun ~ A birthday card for a seven year old. One is soft and tender for a baby, and the third is stamped with sunflowers to be cheerful and uplifting.
Your challenge now is to let your sunshine radiate in a Mellow Yellow Cuttlebug Card!

I absolutely am crazy about yellow roses--there is a long nostalgic history of yellow roses in my life! Your yellow cards are a welcome splash of spring and joy.
