Luv Bug Weekend - Coupon Book

Happy Sunday!!!! It's Shannon here with another great project for you to try today.

Have you been enjoying the Luv Bug weekend so far? Aren't our Design Team members' creations FAB?!?

It's bright and early here at the Luv Bug Weekend. But I promise you this project will make you want to hop right out of bed and get creating!!

How about this sweet little coupon book for your sweetie? It's super easy and actually pretty quick.

Supplies
Cuttlebug - of course!
3 full sheets of Riding Hood Red Cardstock by Stampin' Up!
1/4 sheet of Rising Hood Red Cardstock by Stampin' Up!
3 full sheets of Whisper White Cardstock by Stampin' Up!
1/4 sheet of Whisper White Cardstock by Stampin' Up!
Riding Hood Red Ink by Stampin' Up!
Whisper White craft ink by Stampin' Up!
Memento Tuxedo Black ink by Tsukineko
2 6"x6" Clear Acrylic covers by Zutter
"Bracket and Tags" stamp set by Hero Arts
"Coffee with Friends" stamp set by Flourishes

"Warm and Fuzzy" stamp set by Gina K. Designs
"Swiss Dots" Cuttlebug Embossing Folder by Provocraft
"Hearts #1" Cuttlebug dies by Provocraft
"Top Note" die by Sizzix for Stampin' Up!
Crimson Red PM-4 Prismacolor Marker

Crop-a-Dile
Binder Ring
Ribbon
Your favorite adhesive

Ready to get started? What....you don't have the exact items I listed above? No biggie....feel free to substitute anything similar and create your own unique version. I have a few different versions below for you to check out too along with their supply lists!

1) Get out your 'Bug! You're going to need it.
2) Cut the 3 sheets of Riding Hood Red and the 3 sheets of Whisper White into quarters -- 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". You'll end up with 12 quarters of each color.
3) Using your Cuttlebug and the "Top Note" die, cut 12 Top Notes in each color. Yes, the Sizzix dies work in the Cuttlebug. The sandwich is Plate "B", cardstock, die face down, Plate "B". If you're using the Big Shot the sandwich is cutting plate, die face up, cardstock, cutting plate.
4) Trim the edge off using paper snips or other sharp scissors along the perforations to create a smaller Top Note on the Whisper White dies.

Now let's get stamping!!!

5) Gather up your Riding Hood Red and Tuxedo Black inks, your stamp sets, acrylic blocks, and the Prismacolor Marker.
6) Here's a Tip!!!! When stamping multiple images, using unmounted stamps, in the same color I use this technique. 7) Place your stamps, uninked (ignore my coupon stamp...that's what happens when you don't clean off Staz-On ink right away), onto your paper in the positions you want them to be. Here I have my coupon stamp and my "To You" stamp....both from the Hero Arts set.
8) Carefully place your acrylic block over your stamps and lightly press to adhere.

9) Ink them up and stamp!

This is the result!! 2 images, 1 stamping. How much cooler does it get? Finish stamping the rest of the Whisper White pages with these 2 stamps.
10) Ink up the swirly heart from the "Coffee with Friends" set in Riding Hood Red and stamp each of the pages.
11) Using the Crimson Red Prismacolor marker, color in the "You" and "Coupon".

12) Now you're ready for assembly! Using your favorite adhesive, assembly each Whisper White page to the Riding Hood Red Top Note die. See how it fits just within those little perforations?

Set these pages aside and let's get to work on the covers.

13) Cut both Acrylic covers with the Top Note Die. You should be able to use the same sandwich as before, but be careful as each 'Bug differs. If it's too tight try a different sandwich!
14) Using the Whisper White craft ink stamp the swirls and hearts onto your front cover. The back cover is left blank for you to add your own personalized "Made with Love" stamp.

15) Using the 1/4 sheets of Whisper White and Riding Hood Red you'll make the 4 hearts. Run the Riding Hood Red piece thru first using the "Swiss Dots" Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. Then cut out 4 solid hearts in Riding Hood Red....and 2 swirly hearts in Whisper White.
16) Attach the outer part of the white hearts to 2 of the red hearts....and the inner part of the white hearts to the remaining 2 red hearts using Tombo Multi Adhesive or similar.

17) Attach to the front cover using the clearest adhesive you have.
18) Using your Crop-a-dile (watching your fingers, hair and inner portion of your hand) punch a hole in the upper left corner of each page. I was able to do 5 pages at a time and the covers by themselves.
19) Using a binder ring or key ring attach all the pages together.
20) Add some ribbon to the ring for a little extra something.....
Congratulations!!!! You have the perfect gift for your sweetie that will last longer than flowers. Fill out the coupons with items like dinner out, movie night, quiet time together, dancing....or get a little more intimate. Make one for each month or have them expire in a year. They can be as nice or as "naughty" as you want. The important thing is this is a gift from your heart to their's.

Here are a few other versions I whipped up.....

Since today is Super Bowl Sunday....here's one for the game today. Include coupons for "Getting a beer for me", "Order the pizza", "Run to the store for more chips" or anything else your football fan would enjoy.

Supplies
Stamps: "Sporting" by Stampin' Up!, "Bracket and Tags" by Hero Arts
Ink: Not Quite Navy and Summer Sun by Stampin' Up!, "Fired Brick" distress ink by Tim Holtz, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Kraft, Whisper White, Riding Hood Red by Stampin' Up!
Accessories: Yellow and Waterfall Stickles, Navy and yellow grosgrain ribbon, Chipboard covers, Bind-it-all, Not Quite Navy Stampin' Write Marker
And if you don't want to bind it all together, how about putting all your coupons into a tin, wrapping it with some ribbon and presenting it that way.

Supplies
Accessories: Red and White grosgrain ribbon, heart charm by Joann's, twill tape, hinged tin
