Cuttlebug Creatively Your Spotlight Sunday--Green Thumb

Welcome to Spotlight Sunday!

My name is Danni a.k.a dannisdoodles. I would like to share a project you could create for Mother's Day, a special birthday, grandmothers, children, special friend or just a lover of all things "green".

There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling. ~Mirabel Osler

It's with Mother's Day in-mind that I created my project for this week's Spotlight Sunday. Both my Mom & MIL love to garden, love to spend time in the garden, love to walk through the garden, love to have grandchildren in the garden, you get the idea....giggle. So, this Mother's Day I wanted to give them a basket of gardening goodness. I know, shouldn't they have all this? Yes, but they are always adding to it, always having the kids plant new things, always digging in the dirt, sharing their appreciation of all things "green".
ETA:
This is a couple of hours project as-is, but if you would like to have a gift in a relatively short period of time, you could:

Create the garden stakes & soil set & wrap them up in a gardener's tote or with garden shoes in a handmade bag.

You could create another gift by tucking a little gift certificate in the pocket card to a garden center and "tagging" the gardener's tools.

You could create another gift by "tagging" a pair of garden clogs & a gift certificate to a garden center.

"Green Thumb" Gardening Tin

Supplies

Tin: Provo Craft

Cardstock: Bazzill White & Papertrey Ink Kraft

Stamps: Papertrey Ink "Green Thumb"

Ink: Papertrey Ink Snow White & Dark Chocolate

Ribbon: Papertrey Ink Aqua Mist Saddle Stitch

Buttons: Creative Cafe

Patterned Paper: American Craft Backyard

Bling: Martha Stewart Pearls

Thickers: American Crafts Rockabye

Flair: American Crafts

Rub: Bo Bunny

Punch: Fiskars Effervescent

Embossing: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots

Hemp: Darice

Wood Skewers: supply

The tin includes:

Top soil

Gardening Gloves

Trowel

Hand Cultivator

Packets of Flower Seeds

Flower Label Stakes (skewers)

4 U Pocket Card

I created a belly wrap for each of the bags of soil. (a little tip: before you adhere the belly wrap around the bags of soil, it helps to take a small needle to punch small holes on both sides of the bags to allow air & excess moisture to be released from the bags)

I created the flower seed stakes by removing seeds from their original packaging & pouring them into little clear bags. I typed the directions from each of the packets onto the kraft cardstock & then stamped & embellished each tag, adhering them to the stake (skewer) & then to the packet of seeds for each of the flowers.

These are a close-up of the tags for the flower seed bags.

I created the card using a kraft envelope. I hand-drew/cut the boot & paper pieced it together with the swiss dots folders & yummy American Crafts backyard papers.

Thank you for allowing me to share a gift for the lovers of all things "green", whether it be for a Mother's Day gift, appreciation gift, birthday gift, you name it. With a few supplies on-hand & a selection of flower seeds, you can have a gift in no time. Don't have a tin? All of these tools would wrap up nicely in a hand-made gift bag or gardener's tote bag ;)

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask :)

Thank you for joining me here today! I hope you have a beautiful rest of the weekend!

hugs & so much love!
