Stamping& Cuttlebug Special Project #5

Hello everyone
Kirsty here!

It's good to be back and creating for you all! I hope I can WOW you all.
Today I have a very simple but yet effective card to show you all!
It is not my usual style, but I like it quite a lot.
What do you think of it??

To make this card this is what you will need-

  • Leaves CB embossing folder
  • Cuttlebug
  • Organic Outlines Stamp Set (SU)
  • A5 Chocolate Chip CS
  • 9 1/5cm x 13.8 cm Old Olive CS
  • 8 1/5 cm x 12.8 cm Kraft CS
  • 15cm x 10 cm Kraft CS
  • 40 cm Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon
  • 40 cm Kraft Taffeta Ribbon
  • 15 cm Linen Thread
  • Old Olive Brad
  • Scallop Edge Punch
  • 1/16" Circle punch
  • Chocolate Chip Ink
  • Old Olive Ink
  • Sahara Sand Ink
  • Cutter Kit (SU distressing tool)
  • Sponge
  • Dimensionals and tape

If you don't have the Organic Outlines set use something similar that has a bold and an outline stamp that coordinate together.

1. Stamp your bold image in Old Olive Ink onto the 8 1/5 cm x 12.8 cm Kraft CS. For an effective stamped image on your Kraft CS make sure that the stamp is heavy on ink.

2. Stamp the outline image in Chocolate Chip Ink on the same piece but upside down.

3. It should look something like this

4. Pass the image through the CB in the leaves embossing folder.

5. Using a sponge rub Sahara Sand Ink around the embossed image to accentuate it.

6. With your 13.8 cm x 9 1/5 cm Old Olive piece distress the edges with the cutter kit (you can also just use your fingernails for that).

7. Stamp the flower in the Organic Outlines SS in Chocolate Chip on your 10 cm x 15 cm piece of Kraft CS. The left over piece will be used for the sentiment.

8. Punch two holes in the flower with your 1/16" circle punch. One in the centre and one on a petal.

9. Tie your two ribbons around the image together. Just a simple double knot will suffice.

10. Put the brad in the centre hole in the flower and the Linen Thread through the hole in the petal. Tie it to the Ribbon on the card.

11. It should look like this.

12. Stamp the Sentiment. Trim it out making sure you leave enough CS up the top for the Scallop Edge punch.

13. Scallop Edge punch the top edge of the sentiment.

14. Sponge the edge in Sahara Sand. When all elements are completed put the card together. Use the Dimensionals on the sentiment, flower and the back of the 13.8 cm x 9 1/5 cm Old Olive to the base of the card.

And there you have it! A very simple, quick and effective card.
I hope you like it and I also hope you have a go at your own creation.
Don't forget to link it back here so we can check it out.
Thanks for dropping by!

I just use the edge of my scissors to distress edges; hold your paper taut if you don't want to rip it. Angle the scissor blade in a little bit and just rub back and forth with the right amount of pressure.
