Good Afternoon Everyone:
I'm Maggie aka (MlamarreDesigns) I'm happy to be here with you today for a simple tutorial using the Basic Grey papers. I shared with you before I don't like to cut them, or use them, I just luv to collect them :) This week challenge has inspired me to use them :)
Did everyone have a nice weekend? It's been raining and thundering here all weekend...
It's a nice day to stay indoors and create, unfortunately my internet access has been on and off, hence the reason I'm late.
Are you ready to have some fun?
Before we begin I want to thank my friend Heidi for sending me this link to this videos, that inspired today's Spotlight...
Make your Own Flower video HeRe, which I modified to use the cuttlebug. It's so much quicker and easier than cutting those free hand :)
Here's the video I use to create the box, but I modified it a bit so I can include a lid.
Origami box HeRe and HeRe, If the video's will not work, you can find one here on Michele blog
Here's what we are creating,

Supply list
cuttlebug, slider die from Provo Craft, Sizzix circle die, Basic Grey papers, Amanda Blu Rhinestones, Glimmer Myst Terracota, Heidi Swapp distressing tools, Grosgrain ribbon by Offray, pins from my stash.

I created the Origami box and filled it with die cuts, and other embellishments to give to my co-worker who is just starting to scrapbook and create cards. I also included a Target GC in there as well.

Creating the Flower..
Let's Begin!
First cut the paper to create the flower, using the sizzix die in the cuttlebug by using the following sandwich.
Plate b, sizzix die, paper,Plate b on top.
After cutting the paper then use the distress tool on the edges.
Tips:
If you don't have one use the edge of the scissors lightly..

Crumple the round circles then lightly unfurl them and spritz with the Glimmer mist, let dry.
Tips:
If you don't have a glimmer mist use the colorbok fluid chalk.. or use Jacquard lumiere paint diluted with water in a miser spray bottle, to get the shining look.

Stack each circle and crumple a bit to form the shape then use the cropadile to create the hole for the brad to hold the flowers together. Or use any hole puncher.

Close up view of the shape.

Attach the brad to the center.

Then cut the ribbon to tie around the box.
Then add stamping sentiments to the tags, attached with the pin hats.

Voila you are done!
Here's the final project again..

Have fun, Create your ART!
Leave a comment let us know what you think of the modified tutorial to win the Sizzix circle die.
Winner will be announced next Sunday :)
PS don't forget this weeks challenge is the Basic Grey
Have a great week,
Maggie
