Hello Cuttlebug Fans!It's me, Cassie, again!
As you know, Provo Craft so graciously sent the Cuttlebug Challenge team the new embossing folders to highlight before their release. The Senior Design Team will be featuring projects each Sunday revolving around decorating your home!
Today I created a decorative sign for my living room using the New Victoria embossing folder.
And here is my project:
Supplies Used:Cuttlebug
Victoria embossing folder
Fancy Pants Alphabet die cut set
Wooden Picture Frame
watercolor paper
acrylic paint*
foam brush
decorative paper**
cardstock
leaf die cut (Sizzix)
butterfly punch
flowers
gemstone brads
beaded leaves
Adhesives***
* FolkArt Sparkles in Iridescent Pink and white
**Bo Bunny Blush Dot
***glue dots, ATG gun, Xyron
Check out that sparkle and shimmer! It's just sparkly and gorgeous in real life! I hope you can get an idea of what it looks like!
1. Measure and cut panels for the frame. Emboss with the Victoria embossing folder. Using a foam brush and a "dry brush" technique, apply the acrylic paint to the embossed panels to highlight the design and add a touch of color. Paint edges of frame white. Also cut panel for cutout portion and emboss with the same folder.
2. Using the Fancy Pants alphabet die cut set, cut letters and apply adhesive using a Xyron "X" machine. Adhere to the main panel.
3. Using a strong adhesive, such as the ATG gun or red liner tape, adhere panels to the edges of the frame, mitering each corner.
4. Prepare embellishments for the outside of the frame. I took some silk flowers from my stash and removed the centers. After adding an iridescent flower I attached all the layers together with gemstone brads. The butterflies are decorated with gems as well.
