Now to my partner in this tutorial with an incredible step by step for you below using Metal from TEN SECONDS STUDIOS in the Cuttlebug!

Hello, I am Tracy Pounds ,the DT Coordinator on the CCB. I was SO excited when I rec'd my new Cuttlebug Embossing Folders and I knew right away the project I will be doing and sharing with you today!

God Bless America
Designed by: Tracy Pounds
The base of my project is an unfinished wood cabinet door. I painted and distressed the door using paint, sand paper and Walnut Stain Distress Ink (Ranger). I applied mod podge and adhered beautiful paper from the Little Guy collection (Melissa Frances). Now for the best part...the embossed art metal! I love embossing colored art metal in my Cuttlebug EF's!

Here are my quick and easy steps to metal embossing:

First, you will need a sheet of colored art metal (Ten Seconds Studio), your Cuttlebug and the Stars Embossing Folder. I cut random pieces with curved edges for my corners of my door.

Next, lay the piece of art metal in the Stars folder (color-side up). Place the A mat down first and then sandwhich the Stars folder between the two B mats. Now run through the Cuttlebug.

Remove the piece of art metal and using a lightweight sanding block, sand over the embossed design to expose the silver finish underneath. Use a paper towel or an old dryer sheet to clean off any remaining dust and this will also buff the metal and give it a great shine. When finished it will look something like this...

It is SO easy! I hope that you will consider using art metal in your next creative project. It looks fabulous on cards, lo's, canvases, and all kinds of home decor projects!I then adhered the pieces to my door using double-sided tacky tape and ran a decorative wheel (Ten Seconds Studio) along the edges for fun effect. I used the Swiss Dot folder to create the small star on the flag. The large star is made of metal that has been treated with a texture technique and adhered to chipboard. The flag has been distressed with Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo Distress Ink pads (Ranger). I tied a few ribbons and some raffia off my Grand Ole Flag and attached it and the large star to my door. I cut the GOD BLESS AMERICA words on the Cricut (Beyond Birthdays Cartridge). Added a couple more stars, a decorative tag and a metal charm to finish it off.

Have a happy & safe 4th of July!
Tracy :)
Please visit my personal blog here for more creative inspiration!

Thank you, once again for stopping by and making this blog your favorite home on the internet.
Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered in the drawing of the Cuttlebug Machine!
