Please welcome Suzanne Cimini Our Guest Designer!
Let's get to know Sue a bit more..

I am Suzanne Cimini. I live in Alpharetta Georgia with my husband. I am crazing about all crafts and have fallen madly in love with card making. I'm glad to have found the Cuttlebug challenge blog. You can see more of Sue's Art here
Here's a tutorial on how to use a can of Coca Cola to create a unique card, using off course the Cuttlebug Machine from Provo Craft.
Let's begin...
Here's the card created with the soda can..

Supply list..
- Empty Soda Can
- "Party Peter" rubber stamps from I break for stamps
- Cuttlebug "Happy Birthday" embossing folder
- Die cutting machine
- Copic markers
- Dark blue Cardstock
- Art Accentz's "Terrifically Tacky Tape"
Here is how I made the soda can background....
I started with an empty soda can, which I washed and dried. (Remember we are working with metal and sharp edges, so please be careful and watch out for the sharp edges.)
I then took a pair of scissors and poked the top side of the can and then cut around the can to remove the top. I then did the same thing to the bottom of the can. Next, I cut straight down the side of the can.

I then flattened the can...

And inserted the flattened can into my Cuttlebug embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine...

Here is what it looks like after it has been embossed....

I then trim the edges....

And here is the final product ready for your card.

You will want to use a very strong tape to adhere the metal to your card. I used Art Accentz's "Terrifically Tacky Tape".

Have a great day,

PS Tomorrow I will be posting fun ideas for the week for the "Your Story in 30 days this Summer mini album"
It will be loads of fun :)

It's funny - just last night I was using some flowers that I punched froma soda can, and I wondered if the embossing folders were strong enough to emboss the aluminum. What a timely reply!

Yay! Another fun way to reduce!! I can't wait to give this a try! :)
I have a friend that moved to Alpharetta a few years back.
Great idea! Just love to recycle. I just have to remember to cover the edges or the mail person or recipient may not be too happy! Hehehe
Thank you for the technique. I saw another card today with it, and knew I'd be trying it. I did a similar card with heavy foil, and it was nearly cut through with the embossing.

Wow! That's awesome! Imagine how many metal projects you can do with something you would normally throw in the bin. Hmmm..... already thinking about my acrylic paint on those Coca Cola tins.
