On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me: a partridge in a pear tree!
Celebrate the 12 days of Christmas early with us Cuttlebug style.
For the 12 days just before Christmas, the design team will be bringing you inspiration based on the lyrics of The Twelve Days of Christmas.
Hi, I am June Houck. My inspiration came from "tree"=> "recycle" => re-purposed drink coasters. The next time you and your sweetie are out to dinner, bring those drink coasters home. I plan to make these as teacher gifts, and I need both masculine and feminine desk calendars.
Supplies:
-2 drink coasters @ 4"
-4 squares of decorative paper @ 4" and coordinating card stock
-Crop-a-Dile
-Cuttlebug embossing folder
-adhesive, scissors, paper trimmer, ink, stamps, brads
-calendar pages (mine are self-stick from Vippies; you can also print your own from redcastle) -binding (I used 10mm jump rings; you could use ribbon; a Bind-it-All and coil; decorate just one coaster and stand up in a binder clip; or (no coaster) use an acrylic frame and attach calendar pages to the outside)
I used the Cuttlebug Stars embossing folder. I cut 4 out by hand, but also used the embossed background behind the calendar.
Here is the back/outside.
Directions:
1. Cover one side of the coaster with decorative paper. Trim rounded corners with scissors. Repeat for other side. (It is much neater to trim one side at a time rather than to do both sides at once.)
2. Punch holes using Crop-a-Dile.
3. Decorate as desired.
Here is a feminine sample. I used the Cuttlebug Flourished Frame and white wash Core'dinations card stock. It is the perfect size for the Vippies calendar!
I hope I have inspired you. Leave me a comment with any questions, suggestions, or praise :)
