Teresa Collins Designs, Purse Kit by Mel!!!

Mel here, with my first ever Cuttlebug tutorial. I'm more honoured than I can say to be hanging out here with Terrie, the design team, & You! Don't you just love Terrie's stunning album? All that colour & detail she added is such a delight, and talk about the sweetest photos ever!
I got to play with the gorgeous Journal It Girl collection from Teresa Collins Designs. There are unlimited possibilities with this trend-setting kit. (I just love all the stationery elements madly.)
I used it to make this gift set: a purse box, with a little pocket tag (as a wallet on a chain), and a pocket calendar book. The collection has so many details making it such a thrill to work with and so fun with everything matching.

the purse:
Journal It Girl double sided paper (Pink Ledger paper TC-6140)
brackets from the Journal It Girl Crown Notes sheet
Box & purse panel templates
Provocraft Embossing Folder (used here: Textile Texture & Argyle)
Cuttlebug machine
Versamark, Clear Embossing Powder, & heat gun
Paper piercer, needle, & thread. Embroidery floss
Strong double-sided tape
For the handle:Core'dinations Whitewash cardstock (black piece), pink fabric & fabric glue, white craft ink.
Misc: 3 for You Stampin' Up! punch, Pink Copic marker, Swarovski crystalsLarge beads (box feet) & misc. hardware from an old Prada purse
Step 1} Make the box as a base for the purse (a tall rectangular shaped box)

1A) Print & cut out the template for the purse box base.
1B) Trace the box template onto the Journal It Girl double sided paper (I used the Pink Ledger paper TC-6140 .)
Cut the box out & score it. The template is designed to fit exactly 2 boxes per 12x12 sheet of paper.
1C) Assemble the box & embellish it: add a little purse tag, if you like & adhere large beads for feet.
Measurements for the finished box: Height (without handle): 3 and 3/4 inches Width (side to side): 2 and 7/8 inches Depth (front to back): 2 and 1/4
Step 2} Make the panels for the front & back: Print & cut out the purse panel templates & trace them onto the largest of the Journal It Girl die cut file folders. Cut them out.
Step 3} Emboss & embellish the panels:
3A) Cuttlebug heat emboss the purse panels:
-->Ink a cuttlebug folder with Versamark (or other clear embossing ink)-on the negative or positive side, whichever you prefer.
-->Run the 2 purse pieces (for front & back) through the Cuttlebug in the inked folder.

-->After you Cuttlebug emboss the panels, sprinkle clear embossing powder on the wet Versamark
--->heat set the embossing powder with a heat gun.
3B) Embellish the panels: Pierce & stitch around the edges.
3C) Enforce the panels by adhering them to cardstock & cutting them out.
3C) Add fringe made out of pink embroidery floss to the bottoms.
Step 4} Make the front purse flap:

4A) Make an acetate piece for the flap by tracing the purse front with a permanent marker onto acetate & cut it out.
4B) Create a black frame by tracing the acetate piece onto Core'dinations cardstock, cutting the brackets from the Journal It Girl Crown Notes sheet, & trimming it to that bracket shape:
4C) Cuttlebug emboss the acetate piece, adhere the frame & stitch around the outside.
4D) Add some flowers (punched from the Journal It Girl file folder instructions-which makes great text paper for small flowers.) Adhere the purse flap to the front of the box. Colour the flower centers pink & add Swarovski crystals
Step 5} Make the handle:

5A) Adhere a strip of fabric 12" x 1-1/2" to a piece of Core'dintations Cardstock (I used the black piece from their Whitewash collection.) Trim & fray the edges of the fabric Cuttlebug
B) Emboss it, ink the black side with white ink & stitch it with black thread.
Step 6} To assemble the whole thing:
Adhere the panels to the purse box base & attach the handle.

the pocket calendar:
Supplies:
12 months from the Journal It Girl Calendar sheet TC-6447Medium Die Cut File FolderPink Tags sheetBlack cardstock
To make the pocket calendar book:
A) Cut all 12 months of the year from the Journal It Girl Calendar sheet TC-6447
B) Fold the matching Medium Die Cut File Folder in half
C) Cut 4 pieces of black cardstock (each piece measuring 3-3/4" x 5-1/2") Score them each down the middle & fold them in half. Lay them over each other, pierce them down the middle & stitch or adhere them into the File folder to make a book.
D) Adhere the calendar months & embellish the pocket book with pieces from the Teresa Collins Journal It Girl Collection
E) If it's tied shut with a ribbon, it fits perfectly in the purse box.
If you wish to have the PDF files for the purse, please leave a comment and your full email address, and we'll send it right to you!!
Thank You so much for stopping in! :o)

Cuttlebug`Creativly Yours Spotlight Sunday` Therasa Collins Kits...

Welcome to this week's `Creatively Yours Spotlight Sunday`with me, Terrie Bailey.
I am so happy that you chose to stop by today.
I am so honoured to share with you all today the wonderful products from `Theresa Collins`
alongside the very creativly talented `Mel`...

I will be showcasing the

`Theresa Collins Documented Envelope Book kit`.
I hope I can give you a little Inspiration showing just how you can create with this beautiful album making it your own. Anyone can create with this kit, from the less experienced crafter right through to the more experienced crafter. The main thing is to `Enjoy` and
create your precious album for you to keep all those precious memories and photos we all too often put away in the cupboards and forget about. I think it would make a beautiful gift to give a family member to treasure.

This kit is quite self contained so all you need are a few crafty materials and your Imagination.

There are oodles of papers, stamps, tags and journaling pages with pleanty left over to create LO`s and cards. The kit co-ordinates beautifully, therefore the choices are endless. It even comes with the red binding coil so you can use your Bind -it machine along with it. The only other materials you would need are the Score-it, adhesive and embellishments of your choice.

I started to prepare my album by printing my photos and gathering all my embellishments and tools together along with my Score-it for those perfect folds.

I then prepared the back and front of my album covers and ran them through my Cuttlebug machine using my `Fleurs and swiss dots`from `Provo Craft`embossing folders. I thought they matched the album beautifully.
GATHER ALL YOUR MATERIALS AND TOOLS.

I then started to dress my pages as I went along....

Another good point with the album is you can add to your pages along the way. Don't you just love how you can add your pages from small to tall?

Some of my complete pages...

My Complete album...

I hope you enjoyed what I did with my `Documented Evelope kit.` I hope you can visit us here at CUTTLEBUG CHALLENGE...and share all those memories and pages....

Don't Forget to sign up to become a follower. We are well on our journey to 2ooo followers!!!!Leave us a comment and let us know what you think of this album?

`Thank you` for letting me share this with you.

Have a lovely Sunday.

Creating an Accordion Fold Card with the Scor-it

Hi Everyone!

I'm Michelle, and I'm excited and happy to bring you this episode of The Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot's "Fab Friday TV": Creating an Accordion Fold Card with the wonderful and easy to use Scor-it Scoring Board.

I chose to share this specific tutorial with you because it's clever in that it allows for making 2 standard A2 sized accordion fold card bases out of one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of card stock. While the folded (base)card itself is shorter than a standard A2 card (and is almost square) it gains the extra length by the placement of the pumpkins off of the edge of the card, giving the completed card the measurements of a standard A2 card.
*Many A2 accordion fold cards require that you use 12 x 12 card stock

Being able to make 2 easy accordion fold cards from one sheet of card stock is a great way to send one of the cards off to someone special, and still have another to save for reference and inspiration in the future. (I almost always make at least 2 of every card I make...saving one in my "Inspiration Box")

I'll be showing you how to make the Halloween card pictured here today, but imagine the possibilities...
A floral card, with floral/flower images cut out and placed at the edge..
A Holiday Card with snowflakes at the edge...
A birthday accordion fold with stamped images of a birthday cake..or numbers specific to the person's birthday...or images of birthday presents...placed at the edge of the card

The possibilities are endless!

To make this Halloween card you'll need:

Black card stock

White Card stock

Ink Pads

Halloween themed or Print Paper of your choice cut into 3 pieces measuring:
1 1/4 x 4
2 3/4 x 4
3 3/4 x 4

Punches or dies that will give a scallop edged square and a nesting plain edge square

Halloween stamp set/images

Paper trimmer, adhesives, fine detail scissors

Scor-it Scoring Board

Now that you've taken a peek at the supply list...it's time to get started!

Thanks for visiting the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog today, and please be sure to post a fast comment after you've watched the video to let us know what you think...and be sure to come back and post a comment and link for the accordion fold card that YOU make!

We'd love to see what YOU'VE created!

And "Thank You" to Scor-it, one of our fantastic sponsors, for creating and offering a tool that allows for easy, perfect scoring.

Have a wonderful and creative day!
Michelle
