Fab Friday TV (Sort of) - New Cuttlebug Folders

Well, it IS Friday, and you are watching Cuttlebug Challenge, BUT, there is no video today, because I have been way too excited and busy making cards to show you with Provo Craft's brand new Winter Cuttlebug Folders! These folders were on my doorstep Thursday when I came come from teaching school, and I couldn't wait to show you some fun things to do with them!!! So, I hope you'll be excited, too, and forgive me for not having a video...you get to see FOUR FOLDERS and a GIVEAWAY instead!!!

Here they are!!
House Mouse Holiday

This little fellow is so happy to be part of wishing you a Merry Chirstmas! He sits on top of a tree that has been colored with Copics and then glistened with Shimmerz. The red background is the brand new Tartan Cuttlebug Folder! It has been highlighted with Ice Stickles. The Tartan is a 5 x 7 folder, bug for this A2 card, I only used part of it.

Paper Piecing with the Cuttlebug

Here is another idea for the Cardinal Folder that Maggie showed you a couple of days ago...paper piecing with the Cuttlebug. First I embossed the entire design on the blue background. Next I used scraps in brown, green and red to emboss just the branch, needles and cardinal. It is easy to trim them along the embossed edges. I used Zip Dry glue to glue them right over the embossed design on the blue piece. Easy! I used a Sakura Souffle' Pen on the snowflakes to make them bright white, and then used Martha Stewart Snow Glitter on the branch for a nice winter feel. To assemble, adhere a 4.25 x 5.5 black piece to card front, then place brads in the corner of the blue piece, then adhere to the black. Use white gel pen on the beak, and then color with gold for good coverage, and black marker for top knot of bird's head. Add Stickles to snowflakes to make them glisten.

Simple Elegance

This showcases the new Flourishes Folder and it is embossed on the front of a white A2 size card, then all of the raised embossed parts were lightly glazed with Crystal Stickles. After that dried, I used CTMH Red Velvet ink to stamp Merry Christmas and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder for a beautiful gloss finish. Voila' ~ A spectacular, elegant card in minutes!

Silent Night
Isn't this a beauty!?! If you have been following my videos and blog, you know I LOVE shiny paper, and this is another example of inexpensive wrapping paper going high class! This paper was adhered to cardstock and embossed with the new 5 x 7 Snowflake Folder. Then I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist, and gently dabbed the standing drops from the top of the foil, leaving the colors in the impressions of the snowflakes, which gave them a hint of color. Next I used the 7" border folder to create the left side design. The edges are tinted with Copics BG000, and the large snowflake at the top is a Cuttlebug Die, popped on with a 3D dot, and topped with a big gem. The ribbon completes this stunning Silent Night scene.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing these wonderful new folders and perhaps you would like to win one!!! It's EASY! Here's all you have to do....

Provo Craft Winter Release-Cuttlebug folder-Cardinal

Congratulations to Patti Senter the winner of the
Cardinal folder!
Please email us :)

Hi Everyone,
I know you are enjoying the previews as much as we are having fun creating the samples for you :)
One of the things I luv, luv, luv about the Cuttlebug folders are the endless possibilities :)
I'm in awe of the awesome tutorials the designers create weekly to inspire you. This week's Challenge is a scraplift challenge, all the info is here.

Today I want to show a simple way to use the folders as a stamp.

What could be better than using the Cuttlebug folders with your Copic markers and Shimmerz Paints?

Are you Ready? Are you excited yet?

Here's the folder I used & I am Giving Away!

Here's how to win:
1. Leave a comment on all the samples that are posted. The more comments you leave the better your chances to win:)

2. Sign up to be a follower.

3. Tell your friends!!

Winner will be announced on Wednesday :)

North Pole by Maggie Lamarre

Supplies:
Basic Grey pattern papers, Ribbons, Robin's nest, Bazill cardstock, Uhue Glue, Copic Markers, Shimmerz paints, Gartner studios card, Martha Stewart Punch.

How to:

1. Cut a strip of cardstock, punch the edges, use the Copic marker to ink the edges, adhere to the cardbase with Uhu glue.
2. Cut another strip of paper and adhere the ribbon to the bottom.
3. Emboss cardstock with the Provo Craft Embossing folder, cut down to size and adhere to another layer of cardstock.

Now the fun begins :)

For this Cardinal I wanted to stay true to the colors, I Googled the image of a cardinal and used that as my guide to color.

I used Copics Go2, R29, YG11, R59, E57, E55

Tip:
Be very careful of the edges of the raised texture! The markers will bleed if you are too close to the edges.

4. Start coloring by using the lighter colors, then blend the edges with the dark colors. Next use Shimmerz paints to add shimmering colors to the stamp image from the folder.

5. Mount the Stamp image onto the cardbase, add stamp sentiment!

Voila'!! Done!! A very simple effect using the folders as a stamp, and I luv the raised texture :)

Let us know what you think of this simple tutorial? How would you use this folder?
Have a great day,
Maggie

All of my family know that Fall and Christmas are my favorite times of the year. This year with the help of my friends on the design team, I plan on getting all my cards done before the end of Thanksgiving, and have them ready to mail out.

This is the first of my Holiday cards, and I'm going to keep using this simple sketch that I have created, to help me along...

Please help us tell Provo Craft what we want. We look forward to hearing from you, by leaving comments under the post, letting us know what you think of these new folder designs, and what kind of designs you want to see in the future.
