Hi I'm Shantaie Fowler , Welcome to the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog.We strive to bring you new techniques and inspiring projects, I hope todays' project will inspire you to get that little bug of yours off the shelf and start creating!
This is a new twist on the traditional take out container. I'm sure you have all seen the wide variety of takeout containers at your local craft store in every size and color, and they have a multitude of uses. I will show you how to make a slightly more elegant style of container.
Gather your supplies: I used an empty Godiva box {after all the divine chocolate was eaten} and altered it to fit my project {I will have a template available for you after CHA is over}
You will need 2 12x12 sheets of card stock, a stylus, decorative papers, glue dots, circle cutter, embossing folders, cropodile, large grommets,ribbon, stamps, and stazon ink
cut 6 circles of patterned paper at least 4 1/4" in diamater. To make fortune cookies, fold circle in half and attach a glue dot. Fold carefully in opposite direction and attach second glue dot. Its OK if they are not perfect...real cookies aren't either!!
To make your "fortune" you will need strips of ribbon about 3-4 inches, stamp messages with stazon ink and apply a glue dot to end of ribbon. Place ribbon in fortune cookie and gently attach, allowing the sentiment to hang out of cookie.
Now its time to embellish your elegant take out container. I cut layers of rectangles embossing them with the new oriental weave folder on the chocolate and coredination whitewash layer.
The closure of the box is a double flap, I punched a 1 inch circle of patterned paper, and placed the large grommet into the flaps with my cropodile.The ribbon is threaded through both flaps and holds its beautiful secrets securely in place! Of course you can use this style of take out box for treats, love notes, even baby gifts!
