*****Today's guest*****

As I announced on Monday, I am bringing a special guest today to teach you more fabulous Fine Art using your cuttlebug. Are you ready? Here is......

She is going to teach you how to incorporate cuttlebug die cuts into an oil painting.

But let's get to know her first through an interview she was so kind to answer for our blog:

Tell us about yourself.

My real name is Raita Maria Sabina and I am from Romania. I am 19 years old and have studied art (painting and graphics) in my hometown (Alba Iulia).
My passion for drawing started at the age of 13 and influenced my decision to study art in high school. This brought me many benefits and especially activities. I have previously worked as a volunteer teacher at a special care school and I also had my art displayed at various exhibitions in my home town.

Please describe your art.

I'm interested in digital and traditional art. I doubt there is one word that describes me and my type of art. I like to dream and try to find my true identity in art.
Mostly my art is divided into categories (like my feelings). On occasions I am in an unpleasant mood and I tend to create drawings that are, in essence, negative. These can be subjects such as blood, melancholy and surrealism. However, I also have good days too (there's no storm without a rainbow). At such instances I like to draw happier subjects such as flowers, cartoons etc. I find inspiration in music, people, and dreams.

How has using the cuttlebug enhanced your art?

Last summer I discovered cuttlebug on the internet and since then I have fallen in love with scrapbooking. Scrapbooking and drawing have several things in common: paper and creation!
Ultimately all you need is patience and imagination. A few weeks ago I visited my new friend Meda, and there I had the chance to try the cuttlebug.
I cut out a few butterflies and when I came back home I started to paint. I decided to make a collage, using just paper and oil colors.(All you need is the courage to add elements such as fabric, objects made of paper, leaves and branches).
Having found cuttlebug, it is much easier for me to create shapes, and textures with various materials such as paper or metal foil . I want to experiment more in the future and create male orientated designs, especially since men are more difficult to please when it comes to gifts.

Thank you, Lolly!
And now, the video that shows how the above mixed media painting was made:

Hi. I'm entry #7. The reason that the url has the name of another challenge is because you are the second challenge that I have entered this at. Hope that is okay! When I saw what the challenge was on your blog, I thought that my card would be a good fit.

I did it! Just finished posting my first entry in your Challenges. I have followed this blog for well over a year, and finally realized I do have time to participate. Thanks!

Jo Ann said...

This is the second challenge I joined in the years I've been crafting but thanks to Cindy as you did inspire me to get my sewing machine out of the box (bought it more than a year ago) but was too chicken to sew on paper. Well, I didn't have prior experience using a sewing machine except for one curtain I made years ago...LOL I am just happy I didn't sew my fingers...Great projects from everybody. God bless!

SueH said...

Beautiful work as always ladies, you never fail to inspire me.

Mind you, having said that….
If anyone ever asks me to machine stitch on a card again could someone please remind me of this challenge.
You’ll know why when you read my blog Lol!
