Merry Christmas in July to all of you...Bonnie McLain here to show you how to create a special card for someone dear on your card list...
I will try to do this with as few words as possible... but remember if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Okay?
This is the inside of the CARD....
All WHITE... have you ever made an all white card.??? Well here is your chance..
On the front of the card I have added only a little bit of color... and of course that will be your choice as to what color you add...Before we start with the directions... I do hope that you realize that this entire week we will be having all kinds of eye candy for you to FEAST on...
I will be carrying through with that on my Blog also ... so please stop by for some more candy!!!! EYE candy that is..
Okay... let's get started
Supplies :
WHITE paper
colored paper your choice
Cuttlebug Folders:
37-1898 Lace Tree embossing folder
37-1918 Combo Ice Crystal just the folder
37-1928 Winter border set
Martha Stewart Border Punch set of your choice
Snowflake punch of any type... I used MS
Cut two pieces of paper that are 7X 10 inches... this card is 5 X 7 when finished...Fold one in half as shown on the right... and then fold the other one in half and then in half again to create the W shape..
Lay the W piece onto your work table...Using a pencil, create a space on the center part of the card... I used a one inch border... that gave me a nice size opening... but nothing is written in stone... so create the opening the size you desire... okay.!!!
I also used scissors to cut it, as this will be entirely covered up... relax and create..
By the way... please excuse all the glue, marks etc on my work space... but this is where I WORK and create a mess... LOL....
Okay... now with your MS border punch... or any border punch, punch out some strips of paper... you dont' have to measure or anything ... just punch out a few of them..Then start to glue them around the edge of the opening. I trim the corners as I go... it is a lot easier... but this is your choice.
Once done, it should look like this..REMEMBER we are going to cover a lot of this UP...
Here is a close up... just to show those of you what it looks like..
Then I ran another strip of the paper lace across the top edge of the card...
I used this GREAT snowflake border embossing folder to create a few panels for the sides of the opening...37-1928 Winter border set was used for the snowflake border

Now these I did leave longer so that I could make sure that they entirely covered all the way up... and trimmed off the excess...
The difference in the background color allows me to high light areas ... when working with white on white I am having trouble getting good pictures... so I hope you will excuse the colors... but as long as you understand, that is the main thing.
Your card should look like this now..
Re FOLD the center line again..
AND add four snowflakes on the corners... I used some pop dots... but glue will work too..I love pop dots... and I don't own a company that makes or sells them either... LOL.. .I would be a millionaire, if I did... LOL!
Here is the close up of the corner... just so you can make sure you are coming along with this one..
Ooooops... I messed up the pictures a little bit here... but you will be able to see what I am showing you anyway...
I used the border set 37- 1928 Winter scenes... I used the House scene one... and I embossed two of them... one I used with the embossing outward and the other was inward... as I wanted the houses to point in different directions...The picture above shows the embossing out ward.
This picture shows the embossing inward...
Okay... almost finished... we need a center focal point... so I used the folder of the combo set (37-1918) Ice Crystal and created my snowflake... which I cut out with a scissor... so that I had the ends of the flake even... that was the simplest way to me..
Then I folded it in half... and popped it and put it in the center of the inside of the card..Now you still have to glue the front of the card panel to the inside panel...
So put glue on the outer panels of the inside... and place it on the inside of the front part of the card... and now your card on the inside is finished...
For the FRONT...
Real easy...Another piece of white paper run thru your Cuttlebug Machine... Using the Lacey Tree folder... and then mount onto colored paper of your choice... trim off excess... leaving about 1/8th of an inch border... not much... just a hint of color.
Put this aside
More white paper... measuring 5 X 6.75 inches... and then using a Martha Stewart Punch set, create a white frame...Punch the corners first, and then the border...
Mount the tree in the center...
I did pop dot mine... but again.. I love to pop dot things...
Here is the outside of the finished card..
And here is the inside...
I do hope that you have enjoyed this tutorial... and that you will make a couple of these cards and share them with us...
