Autumn Splendor Holiday guide!

Fabulous Friday is finally here!  What great inspiration we have all around us if we just take the time to notice it.  Well we are taking a cue from nature and using the splendor of Autumn as our guide this holiday season. So sit back and enjoy the ride as we put the fun back into your hectic schedule.

First stop on the guide is to select a theme for your holiday get together. Once you set a theme, the process becomes so much easier! We all love that right?

Our theme is: the maple leaf.  What a great symbol right?  You will see this theme repeated in the rest of the holiday guide.

So without further ado . . here is your 

to do list for Week 2
 
Are you ready?  Roll up your sleeves and work along with us. By the time the festivities get here, you will be ready for all your guests!

• Order your turkey, ham, or main dish item. Be on the lookout for specials from your local supermarkets and in your surrounding area.
• Organize your tableware, tablecloths, and napkins.
• Decide on a theme.
• Narrow down ideas for centerpiece and party favors.

Beverly has designed a fun, unique place-mat to showcase at your themed event this year! How cute are they???  These will be a big hit and surprisingly easy to make.




Here’s what you need if you’d like to make a placemat or two for your little ones!


Materials:

• chalk cloth – 14 1/2″ x 18″ per place-mat (Did you know there is such as thing as chalk cloth?)
• fabric for backing – same size
• bias tape or similar binding
• paint pen
• chalk

How to:

Place your pieces together, wrong sides together. If you pin the pieces together, pin them very close to the edge so the binding will cover the holes.

Sew your binding around the edges of the placemat. I used two rows of straight stitching. One placemat takes most of a package of double fold quilt binding.


Using a paint pen, write out what you’d like to say across the top of the placemat. I wrote, “I am thankful for . . .” across the top and then some of the leaves from the fabric in the bottom right corner.



That's it!  You've done it!  A fun festive placemat to keep the kids busy.

Fall Centerpiece:




Materials:

• paper place (to be used as a template)
• Straight from the Nest Cricut Cartridge
• French Manor Cricut Cartridge
• Victoria Cuttlebug embossing folder
• cardstock
• glimmer mist in fall colors
• acorns/pine cones
• ink
• adhesive Glue Arts

How to:
 
To create this centerpiece Jackie started with a paper plate as her template to shape her centerpiece.

Cut 40 leaves from Straight from the Nest Cricut Cartridge in sizes 3.5”,3.”, 2.5”, emboss with Cuttlebug Victoria Folder,spray the leaves with various colours of glimmer mist. Let dry and ink the edge. Adhere to the center of the paper plate.

Cut a medallion from  French Manor Cricut Cartridge to fit the size of  the round part of your base and adhere. Then adhere the base to the paper plate.

Cut another medallion to fit the top of the base for the candle.

Add  acorns and pine cones throughout. Place the candle on top and add a few leaves.

Voila you are done! Isn't it fantastic!!! You can add the centerpiece to a charger. You can also give it away to a special guest after the festivities are over with.

How to:

 

Print out your favorite turkey, paper-piece it, emboss the body, and adhere with dimensionals.

Decorate on a card or emboss the inner portion. Fold  corner down and attach brad to only top side of the fold. Adhere in place.

Who can resist such a darling turkey??
