Day 8 Mantel and home decorations Twelve days of Christmas!

Hi everyone,

We are moving right along to Day 8!  and are only 16 days away from Christmas. Time flies when we are having so much fun. I’m certainly ready for it and am bursting at the seams!

I’ve always wanted to have a mantel to decorate, especially during Christmas time. However I have the next best thing. . .  a small table in my hallway which suits perfectly for all the seasons from Christmas to Easter and even Labor Day. Yep I do decorate for Labor Day! I luv decorating so any holiday serves as an excellent excuse for me to get busy. If you don’t have the space and have a coffee table that will work perfectly.

Today Jackie is going to show how you can take any ordinary table and turn it into a stunning Christmas village to fit anywhere in your house. The best part is all you need is a few sheets of Core’dination cardstock, a Cricut, some extreme adhesive, and glue dots.

Hello, I’m Jackie Natal and am very excited to be here with you again. I'm going to share with you a Christmas village. Growing up I would spend hours sitting in front of the Christmas tree playing with our village. I can’t begin to count the amount of times my children in turn have spent playing and breaking them :0) Today I look forward to hearing from you about your own tradition!

Depending on the amount of houses you will be making, you will need at least 2 sheets of paper per house.

How to:



Isn’t it pretty with all the people on the street, we even have driveways for the house, and below to the right of the house, we have raccoons in the garbage can.





 

Supplies:

• 12x24 white cardstock Provo Craft  has the black and white packs you can get at Hobby Lobby.
• Provo craft Winter Woodland cartridge
• blue card stock from Core’dination

How to:

• House # 1 page 75 cut @ 10 1/2 with white card stock
• House # 2 page 76 cut at 8 1/2 with white card stock the roof use blue card stock
• House # 3 page 77 cut at 7" with white card stock the roof use blue card stock
• House # 4 page 79 cut at 10" with white card stock the roof use blue card stock
• House # 5 page 80 cut at 9" with white card stock the roof use blue card stock

TIP
There are  no need to cut the inside of the house to cover the windows, just cut pieces of card stock to cover the inside of the windows. This tip will save you a lot of paper.

• After assembling the houses and adhering the coverings for the windows, create tiny wreaths, and other embellishments from Christmas Cheer Cartridge, Joys of the Season Cartridge,  Winter Woodland Cartridge.
• If time is of the essence purchase premade embellishments.
• add snow to the roof, Then the fun begins by adding family heirlooms  to create a perfect Christmas village, your kids and family alike will adore.

On the  23rd add Santa to the Chimney as seen below !



Ribbon Tree
Supplies:

• ribbon
• 10" paper Mache cone.
• glue gun,glue sticks

How to:

• cut ribbon 4" fold in half to make a 2" loop
• starting from the bottom of the cone you glue the ribbons until you reach the top. Add star and other embellishments once you have it on where you want on the village.

Hello it’s home décor day and I wanted to share a couple of easy ways you can take your mirror from good to fabulous, in just a few steps!

As you know I don’t have a mantel to decorate, but the mirror is going to be transformed into a beautiful mantle using the ornaments we made on day 2.

Let’s begin!

Supplies:

• Silk Poinsettia, garland, Christmas picks
• Christmas strings, Wreath
• Birds, bells
• 2 Stockings
• 1/8 of a yard of fabrics,  clear threads
• Cropadile, eyelets

How to:

• Drape the garland over the mirror and let the center drape a bit onto the mirror to cover the hanger for the wreath.
• Add the springs to the garland, then add the picks, add ornaments.
• Add the wreath to the center with a wreath hanger.
• Add the ornaments we created on Day 2 to the  wreath.

The great things about creating a garland it is very easy and subjective to your personal taste.

Christmas stocking!

How to:

• Special thanks to my friend Carol for creating a small template :)
• Cut 4 bunting  use clear thread to sew both bunting onto one to make it sturdy
• Cut 2 bunting in a coordinating colour repeat the step above
• Use the Cropadile, add eyelets to the end of the bunting, thread the bunting with Twine, sew to the bottom of the fold of the stocking
• Add ribbon to the bottom of the fold of the stocking, add ric-rac
• Add Christmas embellishments rhinestone.

I had taken the pictures of the Kissing Ball as I was making it, unfortunately I was erasing pictures my card was full and thought I had downloaded it but didn’t.

Here’s the direction

Supplies:

• Cut 6 circles 4 inches each from fabric, paper,  cardstock or felt what ever you want to use
• Create a ribbon loop for hanging
• Glue gun, and sticks

How to:

• Layer all the circles, insert the loop after the 3rd layer
• Pinch the center of the first layer with glue
• Pinch the second layer to the top section of the glued first layer, then the bottom layer
• Repeat the process until everything has been punch and glue to look like a honeycomb.
