`Spotlight Sunday`

Hello Everyone , Terrie Senior Design Team member here with you all today.Today I would love to share a box I created to give as a gift along with the ATC`s I created the other week for the Cuttlebug Blog.
For those of you who are new to ATC`s well let me explain a little about them first.
An ATC card (or ATC for short ) is a tiny original piece of art, created with the intention of swapping or trading with another artist,not selling it.The one rule the Artist trader must adhere to is it`s size.An ATC must measure 2.5" x 3.5" or 64mm x 89mm(Why?thats the size of the original collectable sports trading cars.)
On the front of an ATC the artist creates an original work to showcase their art.It can be a one off,part of a series,or a limited addition.On the back the artist puts their name,contact details,title of the ATC,number if it`s a limited edition,and sometimes the date it was created.
Dont you all think these are a wonderful way to share with crafty friends all those examples of the Cuttlebug embossing folders !!!!So without further ado,
MY BOX
SUPPLIES AND MATERIALS.
Cardstock.
Lid to measure 4.9 "x 5.9"
Base to measure 4.7 " x 5.7"
Embossing folders all from PROVOCRAFT Score-it.embellishments,ribbons,metallic rubons,string small tag and sakura glaze pens from Sakura of America
HOW TO:
Cut out your box lid and base ,emboss both pieces with your embossing folders.measure your score lines so the ATC fit in the centre of both nicely.Then use your score-it to score and create your folded lines.give a light helping of metallic rubons over the suface of your box lid and base.
Cut two small strips of card and emboss enough to fit on the front face of your box
Glue and assemble your box , then add to the front face of your box your two strips of card along with your embellishment.Then place two pieces of ribbon together.
Place a small piece of 3d foam pad to the back of your box to keep your tied ribbon in one place.
Add string through your ribbon.make a small tag and add your text with your SAKURA PENS
Place ATC`s inside your box ready to complete your gift.
`voila` MY COMPLETE BOX.

`Thankyou` for letting me share this with you all.I do hope you enjoyed it and would love to know your thoughts about these folders?Are you feeling Inspired to create your own boxes?

2010 Winter CHA Projects Featuring Asian Inspired Folders

Hi I'm Shantaie Fowler from InkingPink, I have a few more CHA goodies to share with you. So far the team has really impressed us all with the creative and artistic paper crafts. I want to thank all of our sponsors for the fantastic products we got to use in our CHA projects.

I had two categories to make projects for. The first ,was Gifts from the Kitchen.

You may remember this project from a previous post during the 12 days of Christmas, this is a cocoa gift set with a fun pink and teal color combo from Bella Blvd. and core'dinations.I used the Japanese scales folder on the cup sleeve demonstrating once again that these folders are super versatile!!

My next Project is a chocolate bar slider sleeve.

This is a fun gift item with my favorite theme ever...chocolate!! I used the whitewash core'dinations cardstock, and cosmo cricket papers.I wonder if the chocolate bar survived CHA?

I made this colorful and charming recipe box, that my sister has claimed to be her favorite!

I love this cheerful paper from cosmo cricket, it reminds me of a retro kitchen.Fun. I picked up this premade box at my local craft store and covered it in all these happy papers for a custom look.I even played with my new cricut to make this "recipe" label.

This is the takeout container I shared with you in this post

These gorgeous papers from adornit really "make" this project. Even though these fortune cookies are made from paper the takeout container can be used for yummy treats!

If you grow your own herbs, or know someone who does, you will love this project.

These plant markers are all dressed up in cosmo cricket paper, stamped images and a bird from the winter woodland cartridge.You can pick these up at Michaels or target for $1.00 and embellish away!

I made this Family tree for the "family reunion" category, it is a 3D wood tree covered in pages from a book, glitter and sweet paper from Bella Blvd.The flowers are embossed as well as the metal hearts.

I had so much fun with all of my projects, and feel so honored to have the opportunity to have my work seen at CHA.

Don't forget we are giving away 2 Cricut cartridges this month, leave comments for a chance to win :)

Back to School at CHA Winter 2010

Hi everyone! It's me, Cindy, just stopping in today to show you my Back to School project that went to CHA without me!

My first project is a 'desk box' with school supplies in it.

I made the box using instructions I bought online from Inking Idaho, adding layers of Cuttlebug embossed Core'dinations paper to the various surfaces. The terrific designer paper is by Adorn It. The top has a couple of school child silhouettes from A Child's Year Cricut cartridge.

I used a nice grosgrain ribbon on my box and the front stays closed with magnets (under the buttons).
Inside my box is designer paper wrapped glue stick, eraser, and pencil. I made a post-it note cover with an inside pocket and magnetic closure. There are a couple of small note cards and bookmarks. The inside of the box cover has a pocket holding a pad of paper.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another project I made was taking a small notebook and making a larger cover with built in handles. I added dividers with pockets and covered surfaces with more Adorn It and embossed Core'dinations.
Here are a couple pics of the inside. The words School Zone above was cut with Cricut Graphically Speaking cartridge, while the other 'icons' below were from A Child's Year.
Hope you were inspired by some of my Back to School project for CHA! You certainly could adapt these to any occasion... Valentines, a new job, etc.
Thanks so much for taking the time to look and please do leave a comment. Your words mean a lot!
Have a great Day!!
Cindy
CHA Winter 2010 ProvoCraft Cuttlebug Projects: Valentine's Day
Hello, friends! Jana here! I was thrilled for the opportunity to create some projects for the ProvoCraft booth at Winter CHA 2010. A BIG THANK YOU to Maggie and ProvoCraft for such a fun assignment and a special THANK YOU to Bella Blvd. for sending me the Oh-So-Cute "Flirty" collection to work with for these projects. What a perfect combination! :) I also used lots of yummy Core'dinations Cardstock . :)
Sweet Treats by Jana Eubank
On this page I pulled out several of my Cuttlebug dies to create the title and heart accents. The title is created with the Red Tag Sale Alphabet. The hearts are created with Concentric Hearts and the 2X2 Hearts dies. I used the Heart Blocks, Swiss Dots, and Frills Border embossing folders here as well.
Hugs & Kisses Tic Tac Toe by Jana Eubank
When I think of Valentine's Day, I think of kisses and hugs a.k.a. X's and O's. I thought it would be a fun project to create a Hugs & Kisses Tic Tac Toe game for the little ones in my life. :) I used the Cuttlebug Red Tag Sale Alphabet and 2X2 Hearts dies to create the title and markers. The background of the Tic Tac Toe board is embossed with the embossing folder from the Love Language Combo set.
XOXO Card by Jana Eubank
I wanted to create a soft, monochromatic card for Valentine's Day. I chose pink and white as my color scheme. The background was created by spritzing the Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder with Bed of Roses Spritz by Shimmerz (not the paper). Next I placed the cardstock into the folder and ran it through the machine. The effect is really fun and different as the spray ink settles into different areas of the folder creating several shades of pink.
The embossed stamp image came from the set that was included with my Cuttlebug machine when I purchased it. I painted the image with Opal Shimmerz paint by Shimmerz leaving the recessed areas white.
Finally, I added some more embossed Frills as a base to my pink ribbon.
Things We Love Mini Album by Jana Eubank
I thought it would be fun to create a small book recording all the things my family loves right now. I chose to use several embossing folders on this project to give each page it's very own "personality" . . . just like each individual in my family.
On the cover I used the Textile Hearts Combo set and the Swiss Dots embossing folder (on the letter stickers). I also used the Frills Borders to create the purple border piece.
On the left page I used the Floral Fantasy embossing folder. On the right, I used the embossing folder from the With Gratitude Combo set.
Here I used Swiss Dots on the left, and the Oh My Crafts! Checkerboard folder on the right. I used the Frills borders to create the white border accent.
The left page here is embossed with D'vine Swirl, and the page on the right is embossed with Diamonds in the Rough.
Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! Hopefully, I've inspired you to create some Valentine projects of your very own. :)
See you next time!
Jana Eubank
