Cuttin' Up Saturdays - Under the Sea with Digital Delights by Louby Loo using the CENTERPOINT Feature

Welcome back to "Cuttin' Up!" feature!

This week our designers will highlight the "Center Point" function on the Expression! We hope to keep inspiring you to new heights of creativity and confidence! Please leave us your comments ♥

This was our take two with Digital Delights by Louby Loo! Like the rhyme? I'm such a dork. ;)

Court Lee

I wanted to make a card set with her cute digital stamps.

Our goal today is to show you how the CENTERPOINT function can be used on your Cricut®. I had never done this before and a: it is SO easy and b: I will definitely be using it again! I picked up my tutorials from Tammy's blog.

Here are a few:
This is one she did to make words the center of the invitation.

This is a link to her blog post with a video embedded to do a recipe card!

I chose the Octopus, Water Turtle, and Starfish. I LOVE that little Water Turtle - so cute!

Using Tammy's tutorials (I had only watched the two that I posted above), I decided to give it a whirl. I chose an image from Graphically Speaking™ and did exactly what Tammy said. I think they came out brilliantly. :) Thanks Tammy!

Sorry about the Cuttlebug folder in the back, that I was using to prop up the turtle card. Haha. I bet you didn't think of that use for your Cuttlebug folders! :)

Don't forget to play along this week for a chance to win the Digital Delights by Louby Loo ENTIRE Under the Sea set! :) You have until Tuesday at midnight.

I decided to make a shadow box card. I used Core'dinations White Wash Collection to make my cards. I used the Forest Branch folder for the front and the D'vine Swirl folder for the back. For my "center point" cut I used the George cartridge. After I "Cuttlebugged" them, I used a sander to highlight the embossing. I used MS branch punch to make the coral.
Thank you for being with us, and we hope you will try using Center Point on your Cricut! It's a very handy tool!!!

Cuttle Your Pages Friday August 27

Rosemary

Welcome back to Cuttle Your Pages Friday at Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot!!

Today we are embossing digital stamps

How exciting to have Digital Delights by Louby Loo as our sponsor this week! If you checked out our Be Inspired Wednesday, you experienced an array of inspiration from our Design Team using these cute digital stamps..

Today we are embossing those digital stamps on a layout and you will see how easy that is to do. To get the size you want for your layout, open a blank page in WORD. Now click on INSERT and go to your file where you keep your downloaded digital stamps. Once you click on the one you want, it will then be inserted on your blank page. When you click on the stamp, it will then allow you to size your stamp to what works for your project. Depending on the size you choose, you can get several on the one page. Print and cut and you are ready to bring it alive with color!

Having a large format printer, I was able to print my background right on my Core'dinations cardstock. All stamps were colored with my Copics and then glittered up with Stickles. The shells around the photo were done with my Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. My mermaid was printed twice which allowed me to make several cuts for the body and pop dot them. For the tail and top section, I embossed with Swiss Dots and then used a rub-on by Craft-T products. The body was embossed with Japanese Scales and that had several colors of the rub-on by Craft-T applied. My mermaid, tag and fish were popped giving my page more dimension.  My tag was embossed with the Seeing Dots embossing folder.

The first thing I did for my layout was print out the background image.
The sea grass was printed on a piece of 8.5 x 11 white card stock then colored with Copics. I then made a color wash with reinkers and water and brushed over the whole page. Next, I worked on that cute little turtle, colored again with Copics then cut out each section of the top shell and ran it through the Cuttlebug using my Swiss Dot folder; I added black stickles for the lines. The Distress Stripes embossing folder was used on the rock. For the circle I used my Japanese Scales Asian embossing folder. I added yellow stickles to the stars on the title tag; background paper is K&CO. Photos are from a recent trip to the zoo.
.

Supplies: Cuttlebug Bloom Dots embossing folder, BasicGrey Color Me Silly papers, Bazzill card stock, and QuicKutz Paige font ("SUN")

Techniques:
1. Faux 12" border: I computer-generated "A day in the" in landscape format (11" long). I cut the strip at ~3" and glued my sun to hide the 1" gap in the strip.
2. Embossing a 12" strip: Emboss the first 5" on one end. Carefully place the middle of the strip in the embossing folder so that the pattern is maintained as closely as possible. *Sandwich the folder between the two embossing plates, but allow part of the folder to hang out of the sandwich so as not to disrupt the embossed pattern. Repeat from * for the end of the strip. To add a little fun to the photo frames, I added the crab and starfish from my Digital Delights collection, Under The Sea.

Thank you for stopping by to see what we have to share with you this Friday!!..Be sure to take our Be Inspired Wednesday challenge and you may win a set of these cute digital stamps by Digital Delights!!

Be Inspired #98 Under The Sea

It seems there is a magical world waiting for us under the sea! Mystical Mermaids, happy sea horses, smiling flounders, charming whales, and definitely un-crabby crabs! This week our Challenge is being sponsored by Digital Delights by LoubyLoo, and the Design Team are all using their delightfully whimsical Under the Sea collection of digital images. The beauty of digital images is the ability to keep them in your computer, print them at any size, and also flip them, so you have mirror image capability that is not possible with traditional stamping. Check out the inspiration from the Design Team ...

Let's Party With Imaginisce!

Good Morning! It's Party Time!!!

Sandee here on this Monday morning to share a fun project using my Cuttlebug and Cricut along with this wonderful collection of papers, rub-ons, chipboard stickers, stamps and ribbons from Imaginisce!
This B-Day Bash Collection is so cute and fun to use for a
young child's birthday party.
All of the papers, stamps and embellishments
coordinate perfectly so your projects will be the talk of the party!!!

I made a cute little place mat, by adding strips of the designer paper along the edges
of a piece of cardstock. I added two chipboard stickers and also,
The napkin holder has some more cute little animals attached for a fun look!

Here's your party hat!!! What I did here was use an old party hat I had saved from a grandchild's first birthday party and used it as a template to cut out my hat from the Imaginisce paper.
The fringe at the bottom is just a strip of cardstock with the fringe cut with scissors. I also cut out some of the pennants and birthday letters from some of the paper scraps and
added them to the hat for a little flair. I added a few rub-ons too!
And I have continued with the cute little animal theme!

Time for presents!!!!!

I spruced up a plain white gift bag with some of the papers and more fringe and animals.
And I made a cute little tag to match! The card uses the cute little clear stamp set
that is part of the B-Day Collection. The background is embossed with the

Your little guests will love their goody bag full of fun and yummy goodies!!! Again I dressed up the plain white goody bag with the Imaginisce designer paper.
I found some inexpensive party favors to alter for the goody bags. A kaleidoscope, a little tube of bubbles, one of those things you blow and the end unrolls. I covered a chocolate bar with embossed paper
and I used my Cricut and the
Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge
to create the little box to hold the bag of M & M's!

When the party is over, it's time to get all of those wonderful photos printed out and make a quick little scrapbook! This is one of those inexpensive clear photo albums. I took out their paper insert and
put in paper of my own.
The chipboard sticker is part of the
I thought would be real cute with the birthday cutie's photo inserted behind it! This would also make a great keepsake for a grandparent or special person who was unable to make it to the party.

I hope you have enjoyed the party today! So glad you were here! Have a wonderful week!

Right now there are a lot of back to school themes going around so I wanted to do a back to school - for a high school/college student. When I was in high school I dreamed of traveling to Europe and I was (and still am) in love with all thing Audrey Hepburn-ish. So this is a very girlie, fun, classy and fabulous notebook. I think I will use it! :)

Summer in Paris™ is my favorite cartridge. All the cuts are from this cart. Since the cuts on Summer in Paris are really intricate, I knew this would be perfect as I was going for "oversized" images.

The Eiffel Tower was cut at 8.5". The Arc de Triomphe shadow was cut at 4". The word Paris was cut at 5", but it ends up being about 3.75" tall after you cut out the Eiffel Tower part. After I cut Paris out, I didn't want double the Eiffel Towers on there so I just cut it out after the fact and made the letters connect. I then ran it through the Cuttlebug™ with the D'vine Swirls Emboss Folder and inked it with some hot pink ink. I used my EAD Designs Vintage Rub-ons and put the shoes on the bottom of the page. Lastly, I put glue on both the flag of the Eiffel Tower and the dot of the "i" and put Pixie sparkle on them.

I cut the black vinyl at blade depth = 5, Pressure = Max, Speed = Max, cut 2 times. (This is the black vinyl that backs binders or notebooks, so it's much thicker than Cricut vinyl.)

Recipe:
Cartridge: Summer in Paris™
Embossing: A2 D'vine Swirl Emboss Folder
Shoes: EAD Designs Vintage Rub-ons
Paper: Glittered pink paper from my stash, black vinyl recycled from the covers/backs of other notebooks. :)
Pixie Sparkle

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sometimes a book is damaged, or is only "fit for the birds" LOL, so I've decided to repurpose an old book, and create a gift for a friend who teaches reading and French. I know she'll enjoy this for her classroom. Birds and birdhouses are so hot right now, so this little project is definitely one that will be a great addition to your home decor.

Choose an old book, and starting in the center, divide the pages and taking about ten pages on the left and on the right, load the left edge with a generous amount of hot glue. Roll them to the center, so they make a heart shape.

Keep rolling sections, gluing into place. For the second layer, you will need to use an X-acto knife to remove pages from the front and back of the book, adding them to the first layer. It goes together surprisingly quickly! Leave a few pages in the front and back of the book uncurled.

Paint the binding and around the edges of the book, if it is a color that you wish to change. Next I used a Martha Stewart punch and added a cute trim, them added Designer Paper to the roof.

I chose the French Manor Cricut Cartridge for the words and Eiffel Tower, and Straight From The Nest Cartridge for the birds. The photo above shows placing a folded paper inside the two sections of the bird to create a "perch" for him to sit on the top of the house. I cut the birds using the "FLIP" feature on the Expression, allowing two matching sides to be "kissed" and making pretty birds from both sides :)

I hope you like this fun little project! Happy crafting!

This is a notebook I designed using Mini monograms and the Gypsy. You can pick up the pad at any office supply store. The papers are from Memory Boutique and Core'dinations. The Offray ribbon and bow are layered on a cut using the New Large Edger punch from EK Success. I added a little bling to the corners of the monogram. I added a pocket to the inside of the notebook.

With the kids going back to school. I thought I'd show you what can be done to composition books to make them fun!

I started out by covering the book with paper from K & Company, then I used my big punch and put holes in the front and the back of the book. I used the Disney Happily Ever After cartridge and cut out Snow White at 4 3/4". This was a lot of fun putting together. I also used Plantin SchoolBook cartridge for the letters.

To finish it off you can add gramets to the holes. Then thread the grossgrain ribbon in and out of the holes to hold the pen and tie it shut!

HUGGLES!

Hope you all feel inspired!
