Right now there are a lot of back to school themes going around so I wanted to do a back to school - for a high school/college student. When I was in high school I dreamed of traveling to Europe and I was (and still am) in love with all thing Audrey Hepburn-ish. So this is a very girlie, fun, classy and fabulous notebook. I think I will use it! :)
Summer in Paris™ is my favorite cartridge. All the cuts are from this cart. Since the cuts on Summer in Paris are really intricate, I knew this would be perfect as I was going for "oversized" images.
The Eiffel Tower was cut at 8.5". The Arc de Triomphe shadow was cut at 4". The word Paris was cut at 5", but it ends up being about 3.75" tall after you cut out the Eiffel Tower part. After I cut Paris out, I didn't want double the Eiffel Towers on there so I just cut it out after the fact and made the letters connect. I then ran it through the Cuttlebug™ with the
D'vine Swirls Emboss Folder and inked it with some hot pink ink. I used my
EAD Designs Vintage Rub-ons and put the shoes on the bottom of the page. Lastly, I put glue on both the flag of the Eiffel Tower and the dot of the "i" and put Pixie sparkle on them.
I cut the black vinyl at blade depth = 5, Pressure = Max, Speed = Max, cut 2 times. (This is the black vinyl that backs binders or notebooks, so it's much thicker than Cricut vinyl.)

Sometimes a book is damaged, or is only "fit for the birds" LOL, so I've decided to repurpose an old book, and create a gift for a friend who teaches reading and French. I know she'll enjoy this for her classroom. Birds and birdhouses are so hot right now, so this little project is definitely one that will be a great addition to your home decor.
Choose an old book, and starting in the center, divide the pages and taking about ten pages on the left and on the right, load the left edge with a generous amount of hot glue. Roll them to the center, so they make a heart shape.
Keep rolling sections, gluing into place. For the second layer, you will need to use an X-acto knife to remove pages from the front and back of the book, adding them to the first layer. It goes together surprisingly quickly! Leave a few pages in the front and back of the book uncurled.
Paint the binding and around the edges of the book, if it is a color that you wish to change. Next I used a Martha Stewart punch and added a cute trim, them added Designer Paper to the roof.
I chose the French Manor Cricut Cartridge for the words and Eiffel Tower, and Straight From The Nest Cartridge for the birds. The photo above shows placing a folded paper inside the two sections of the bird to create a "perch" for him to sit on the top of the house. I cut the birds using the "FLIP" feature on the Expression, allowing two matching sides to be "kissed" and making pretty birds from both sides :)
I hope you like this fun little project! Happy crafting!

This is a notebook I designed using
Mini monograms and the
Gypsy. You can pick up the pad at any office supply store. The papers are from Memory Boutique and Core'dinations. The Offray ribbon and bow are layered on a cut using the New Large Edger punch from EK Success. I added a little bling to the corners of the monogram. I added a pocket to the inside of the notebook.

With the kids going back to school. I thought I'd show you what can be done to composition books to make them fun!
I started out by covering the book with paper from K & Company, then I used my big punch and put holes in the front and the back of the book. I used the
Disney Happily Ever After cartridge and cut out Snow White at 4 3/4". This was a lot of fun putting together. I also used
Plantin SchoolBook cartridge for the letters.
To finish it off you can add gramets to the holes. Then thread the grossgrain ribbon in and out of the holes to hold the pen and tie it shut!
HUGGLES!
Hope you all feel inspired!
