I am currently on the hunt for a chandelier just so I can do this awesome tutorial.
These carves are all the trend right now!
I was at a Fashion show where I saw these awesome rings for sale for $24.99. I knew one of our readers will come up with an awesome tutorial if I just wait :)

Another clever idea!

If you are like me and have vents like this on the wall here’s how to dress it up.

Encaustikits - A Fun Medium To Try
Encaustic is a medium that was used in early icons in Egypt dating from around 100-300AD. Many notable 20th century artists have included the use of wax painting in their works.
What is Encaustic? Here is the definition from Wikipedia:
(1)Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax to which colored pigments are added. The liquid/paste is then applied to a surface—usually prepared wood, though canvas and other materials are often used. The simplest encaustic mixture can be made from adding pigments to beeswax, but there are several other recipes that can be used.Growing up, my mother have used the art of Encaustic for years as a sealant for her art. It was not until 15 years later, when I was introduced to the art of Wassily Kandinsky that I discover the marvelous world of Encaustic painting.
I fell in love with Wassily's work and the way he uses the vibrant hues to convey feelings and movement. Once I found out we would be working with Patricia Baldwin Seggebruch's EncaustiKits, I was super excited. She has been leading the movement of Encaustic on YouTube for the past couple of years with technique videos.
It was very easy to work with the EncaustiKit. The colors I received in the EncaustiKit were superb. (Clear, indigo and burgundy.) The instructions in the EncaustiKit were very clear and concise. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced user, this EncaustiKit will work very well for you.
Pros: Directions very easy. Colors are perfect. You can find a variety of products available. Ideas are also available on the Encaustikits blog.
Cons: It is messy like glitter. You will need to protect your work area. You need to have dedicated tools for this medium.

Maggie
