Beautiful clutch tutorial!

SONY DSC
Hi Everyone,
I must admit I’m a big bag carry on kinda gal. The bigger the bag the happier I am until I’m searching for something in the bag then I have to empty everything out to get to it.
I’ve been thinking about downsizing for a long time, but the thought of not having everything with me has been a deterrent from downsizing.
My daughter asked me last month for a make up bag, then I started thinking maybe a little clutch once in a while is not too bad :)
Welcome to Rendez vous Monday!

I’m Maggie sharing an easy way to downsize from a boho or huge bag by using a beautiful clutch that is just your style, the best part is you can make it any size, any colour to suit your needs. Isn't that fun eh?

Let’s begin!
  • You will need 2 fabrics measuring 7x12”, Lightweight fusible interfacing.
  • Thread, needle, sewing machine, scissor, ruler.
  • 1 1/2 yards of ribbon
SONY DSC
Instructions:
  • Cut a square 5x5, fold all sides and sew to the right side of the lining of the bag.
SONY DSC
  • Follow mfg instructions for fusible interfacing of the top lining fabric, iron to the wrong side of the fabric.
SONY DSC
  • Put both fabrics together wrong side together and sew leaving 1/8” of in seams, sew all 3 sides.
  • Sew the top leaving a 3-inch opening, snip the corners, turn the fabric inside out. make sure to use your finger or a pencil to get the mitered corners out nicely.
  • Iron the clutch, specially the corner for a nice finish.
SONY DSC
  • Insert ribbon in the opening, then blind stitch the opening. Sew around the edges for a nice finish.

    SONY DSC
    • Decorate the clutch as you desire. I added 3 ribbon roses and rhinestones using fabric glue.
    Voila you are done!

    SONY DSC

Additional  ideas for this clutch, use Lame fabric for an evening clutch and add a handle on the side. You can also use satin fabrics to match a prom dress, the possibilities are endless with this basic tutorial.
    Have a great week,
    Maggie,

Create your own glitter spray mist layout tutorial!

    Hi Everyone,

Spray mist has been around for the past couple years and they are still hot. They are so versatile to work with and give you the pleasure of creating your own colour combo with a the added benefit of glitz.

I luv  using  spray mist to create intricate background by either using it as a water colour or just lightly spray the cardstock.

    Welcome to Rendez vous Monday!

    1Rendezvousmonday

    me2

I’m Maggie sharing a few tips on spray mist with you today.

I like to use the spray as a water colour by adding a few sprits on a container and using a soft brush to pain the item.

My other favorite use is to spray lightly at least 6 inches away using a variety of colour, keeping the sprayer 6 inches away also will add less water onto cardstock, thus avoiding the warp effect on the cardstock, if indeed you have that issue, I’ve found ironing the back side of the cardstock is quite effective. Below I use two colours to create the soft water colour effect on this lo.

If you don’t have any sprayer paint you can create your own.

    Here’s the formula:

1 part water, 2 parts pearl ex  in any colour desired in a mister, shake well to use.  another tip  you can combine colours together to get a desired effect.

    Supplies:

    • Core’dination Machine Wash cardstock, and Couture Cardstock, K & Company die cut, Gcdstudios Melanie Ross Eva collection.
    • Tattered Angels Glimmer mist  “turquoise, Lime”, Martha Stewart  butterfly punch, rhinestones, border, SEI button, Anna Griffin Darcy epoxy, My little shoe box sticker.

    SONY DSC

    Let’s begin!

    • Cut die cut in half, adhere to core’dination cardstock, spray using the lime green on top 6” away from the cardstock to avoid spots and puddle, let dry. Spray the bottom half using the turquoise in a sweeping motion as seen below.

    SONY DSC

This is an easy way to create your own pattern paper and adding a bit of glitz with the shimmer from the spray.

    Here’s the final lo again.

    MaggieLamarre-bliss

Here’s a frame I used the same technique as above, I posted back in February click on the image for the tutorial.

Here’s another example of spraying on duck cloth and stamping, the duck cloth from Walmart was .62 cents, I use some for the frame above and this lo.

I’ve enjoyed sharing these tips with you and would luv to hear from you what other tips you have for using spray mist Smile

Have a great week, Don’t forget our linking party is going on here
