2011 4th of July celebration menu from the linking Parties!

As we are getting ready for the 4th of July celebrating our freedom. I can’t help but take a moment to pray for those who never made it back to their families.  I thank them for their sacrifice to protect our freedom.
One of the most amazing things about our weekly party you never what amazing projects you will share with us. I am so thankful for your talents, your generosity of spirit, taking the time to share with us every week.  My 4th party coming up is all from the links you share, from a succulent grilling pork tenderloin recipe, fruit salad cup, 7 layer dip shot, Lemon rice, this refreshing frozen treat, simple table décor to showcase the food, now you see why I get so giddy every week with anticipation of what you will be sharing :)  My next project is this amazing fire pit I’m hoping Susan will send her husband over lol
This is the first week since we started our linking party we’ve had such a variety of links from cards, layout, home décor, fire building pit,  with fabulous recipes.

Introducing the fabulous Molly Peckham. Molly is an amazing designer, I worked with her when I was Marks Paper marketing director, she is a published designer many times over.  We are excited to have her with us.
Please help us welcome Molly!
190581_1002737422017_1032280971_30005396_8098_n
Hi, I am Molly Peckham, an avid paper crafter for just about 10 and a half years now (wow, I am both aging myself and my scrapbooking skills all at once ;) ), and have probably seen and paper crafted it all in these past 10 years. I am a wife of 11 years to Paul, who is in the Navy, and a mom to three wonderful children, Brendan, who is 10 (and has Asperger's, a type of Autism), Alex, who is 8, and Caitlynn, who is 4. Being a military wife has brought me, literally, from one side of the U.S. to the other (we have lived in Maine twice, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York twice and Hawaii twice), and have seen many cultures that have helped to broaden my horizons as a crafter (and I actually LOVE moving, please don't ask. I hate the actual unpacking part, but the whole we are going to a new place part, that I seem to thrive on!). I have been out of the paper crafting world for quite a bit, taking a break while my husband was deployed and I was (after a very long period of no one knowing what was wrong with me) finally diagnosed with fibromyalgia. One day, not too long ago, Maggie asked me if I would like to be on Passionately Artistic and I happily agreed, and ever since then, my creative juices have been flowing, once again! So, I thank you, Maggie, for giving a chance on me, again, and I hope that I can only be as much of a creative push for others as Passionately Artistic has been for me (I have been a follower for a VERY long time, so this is truly a dream job for me!).

Molly’s first project :)

Flight of Fancy frame tutorial

SONY DSC

Hi Everyone,
me2I’m Maggie sharing a simple tutorial using Dictionary, stamps and spray. My daughter wanted to have a fancy dress for her prom, off we went in search of the fancy dress at a posh designer store that so happen to be having a great 75% off  from last year’s trunk show. As you know I’m a bargain hunter,  I had get an extra $60.00 off any purchased of $150.00. We found a fabulous dress that was $589 down to $148.00 with said 75%off, a brooch  that was 24.99for $5.00, our total was  101.65. I left with a very happy kid and a fancy dress…
Which brings us to today’s tutorial flight of fancy! I was perusing Michael’s 75% bin, yeah my middle name is 75% off lol… when I stumble over this cute little frame from $1.99 to .49cents, I knew right away it will be perfect to commemorate the fancy dress picture I took in the store fitting room before they scolded me no pictures in the store !sheesh.

Altered scented candle jar tutorial

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was Father’s day in the US, since I’m down with the flu and unable to create the feast I had in mind. My husband took over and created the granddaddy of bbq’s.

How was your Father’s day events?

I gotta tell you my sister gave me this flu through the telephone, yep it’s possible I’m living proof lol.

I wanted to lift her spirit a bit I purchased several candles after last Christmas sale at 75% , I plan on altering them as gifts for this upcoming Christmas.

Welcome to Rendez vous Monday!

I’m Maggie with you sharing a fun simple tutorial embellishing a candle jar, with your stash. Best part of this project the scented candled only cost $1.25

Let’s begin!

Supplies:

Candle Jar, May Art Ribbon,Fabric butterfly
Colorbok chalk, Recollection rhinestone, Prima flowers, K & Company felt flowers
Pattern paper Provo Craft (2-3 years old), measuring tape, Beacon Adhesive 3 in 1 glue

Instructions:

  • Cut 4 pieces of ribbon, adhere each pieces on the side of the jar to create a large bow on top over the lid as seen below.

  • Cover the match box with the pattern paper, ink the edges, add felt flower, and rhinestones, using a clip to adhere to the ribbon.
Tip make sure you don’t cover the side of the match itself.

  • Measure the circumference of the jar add 1 inch for overlap, ink the edges adhere to the jar.
  • Add the rhinestone to the left off center, add the flowers in a cluster, add the butterfly to the top of the flower.

Add a center to the large flower on the pattern paper, Voila done!
Tip if the rhinestone don’t fit your design, don’t be afraid to cut them into pieces then reassemble to desired design for a great effect, like I did above.

Here is the final project.

Have a fantastic week, don’t forget our linking party going on here.
