Note Paper Holder using Cameo die cut machine

Happy Friday!  Carole here with another 3D project courtesy of an image I purchased from the Silhouette America Store! Thank you Maggie for allowing me to share another Silhouette Cameo project with your readers.

Today I am bringing you a note paper holder. I got so excited when I saw this file available at the Silhouette store this week. I love making useful 3D items out of cardstock. My husband was even impressed with this creation. He couldn't believe I made it out of cardstock. Here is a picture tutorial of how the steps I took to create this little goody:

I needed two mats for this design. One mat I used a 12 X 12 sheet of cardstock for the actual note holder and the second mat I used a sheet of cardstock to cut 3 solid color base pieces. Two of the base pieces went on the bottom of the holder, the other goes inside the "well" of the holder. These additional pieces make the holder pretty strong.

I had a difficult time figuring out how to put this together without instruction. So, I contacted the designer of the file (her information was conveniently located with the file at the Silhouette store) and asked for help. I promptly received a detailed instruction sheet from her. Sweet! It was pretty simple to put together once I had the instructions.  I decided I had to spruce it up a bit (not really necessary, it looked great with just the cardstock) so I used my newly purchased Candi dots, topped with some I Rock bling, and adhered them with glue dots around the top of the holder.

The holder is designed to hold 3 1/2" X 3 1/2" note paper or sticky notes. I had neither, so I cut some copy paper into 3 1/4" X 3 1/4" squares and filled the holder with these. What a cute, inexpensive gift to give to a teacher, co-worker, or someone starting a new job!

Suppy list:
Cardstock: The Linen Stack and coordinating Solid Stack (DCWV)
Adhesives: Tacky Tape (for the box); Glue dots (for the Candi)
Embellishments: Candi , Irock metal bling
Tools: Silhouette Cameo (love it); Tulip adhesive rhinestone setter; Bone folder for scoring lines

I am so thrilled with how this turned out. I've made two so far and can see me making many more in the future. I will definitely be getting my money's worth with this 99 cent file!

Have a crafty weekend!
Carole
