American Pickers with a linking party!

My sister called me last week to ask if I’m watching this show, American Pickers  by two guys Mike and Frank. I watched and fell in luv with the show, it’s a bit on the quirky side. My sister knows how I luv going junking, but these two takes it to a whole different level, by going straight to the source instead of going to a reseller like Goodwill or Salvation Army. It gets your adrenaline going to see all the amazing treasures they discover what makes this show so kewl is the fact they share the history of the beginning of the items, they make learning fun.
It’s similar to the linking party you get the same adrenaline waiting to see what treasures are shared every Wednesdays and sure enough there’s always an awesome tutorial that teach you something kewl…
I was totally surprised by this awesome tutorial on using Gesso to get a stone effect. This memo board tutorial, or this modge podge canvas.
I am still waiting to hear from followers #5126, 5130, #5175,#5200.

Sandee’s beautiful butterfly cuttlebug card with the gorgeous lace accent!

Instructions
1. Cut out Cuttlebug Butterfly from sheet of Core'dinations cardstock.  Add to card base.
2. Turn butterfly over to the other side and emboss with butterfly embossing folder.  Attach to butterfly opening.
3. Use Beacon 3-in-1 glue to attach lace, 'gathering' the lace as you glue it to the card.
4. Attach ribbon and bow with 3-in1 glue, hiding the glue seam.
5. Add rhinestones to card and butterfly.  Larger rhinestones are from Want2Scrap.

Maggie Lamarre
My mother is the type of person who made her own soaps and lotions using readily available food containers. She also made her own scented oil from our Eucalyptus tree.
Once she was done making her scented soaps, she would decorate them with anything available. She would use whatever she had on hand, from the comic section in the newspaper to old lace from a table cloth and she would always use a large supply of wax.

Supply List:
Medium: Encaustikits "Plaster"; Paper: Gaspari "Paper Napkin: Damask"; Embellishments: Want2Scrap "Rhinestones: 72 mm clear", Misc: Brush, soap

Let's begin!
  • Melt the Encaustikits. I melted clear and rustic. Decoupage the napkin. Place on the soap.
  • Dip the brush in the Encaustikits, brush on the soaps. Alternating the colours for each soap.

  • Let it cool, add rhinestone to the damask, repeat the process for the other soap.

Voila! A quick an easy way to give a gift or to add a unique touch to a hallway bathroom, or guest bathroom.
Here's the finish set!

Have a fantastic week,
Don’t forget to sign up to be follower we are looking for #5200 if it’s you email me at cuttlebugchallenge@gmail.com

Hi Maggie! Thanks so much for inviting me to join your linking party!! What a great idea!!! Thanks too for being persistent 'til I finally got around to doing it :) Wasn't too sure of how it all worked before - sorry! So I have joined as a follower in your sidebar & linked up my mixed media background tutorial/layout and also grabbed your badge to put in my sidebar BUT {help!} just letting you know that your badge is too big for my sidebar so is sticking out the edge somewhat...I did click "shrink to fit" already so if you have any ideas for me I'd love to know if there was a way I could get it to fit in or a smaller badge I could grab - thanks!
